    Gas mileage

    Hi Guyz

My bike 250cc has used 12.77lt to do 300km.

I have been thrashing it a bit.

    Does that usage seem ok?

23.5 kms per litre you would have to be happy with.

A rough guess in old money makes that sound like about 67mpg which is pretty damn good if you have been pushing it a bit.

On my 576cc, I get 130-170km per 9 liters, depending on how hard I thrash, and how much motorway.. usually towards the 130km end.

So is a big bike like a big car? What I mean is I had an xr6 and a mazda6. The xr6 used less gas. I assumed it was because I didnt have to push it as hard.

In the future I want to upgrade to a 600-750 what sort of gas milage should I expect in comparison to my gpx250?

You were pushing it along, right? Coz it was broken down?

    Thought so...

Seriously, I have never seen ANY bike get 37km/l ... you sure that's right?

A small bike, working hard, will often use more gas than a large bike (of the same vintage) working not so hard. Depends on the state of tune. A friend's FZR250 got the same mileage as my YZF750 travelling at similar moderate speeds. However, the FZ1 uses less gas than the XJR13, especially when used hard.......modern 1000 watercooled engine and fairing vs old air cooled naked lump.

F650GSs were rated for ~65MPG, which is 3.6186859 liters per 100km. Mine wasn't too far off so I'd say it's possible at least.

Absolutely. My GPZ500 used less than my Spada ever did.
