Put 150 klm on the new K60 on Saturday, scrubbed it in nicely...mostly sealed road with a 5k gravel and clay section. First impressions are very positive....griped well and hooked up nicely on the gravel. It was VERY cold and icey up in the Kawekas so was being a little cautious but so far so good. The lads at hastings honda were also impressed; they'd never heard of hiedenau tires before.
Its great to be riding again![]()

Not enough tread depth on that tyre...
Thanks for the mention NF, But just to clarify... I'm not the NP KTM shop (Northwest), though I associate closely with them. RideLife is my own separate business promoting on Trademe and KB. (just shows, I need to get some Business cards sorted out for my customers)
re milage: Just had a KB'er from Hamilton ride down yesterday to have his second 150/70-18 Scout (+ front) put on his 990 after 10 000kms on his last one.
Glad your enjoying them NF.
Heidenau Ed.... Heidenau! - (old Poulan Chansaws joke)
pronouced - Hi-din-ow
theres hardly any tread left on the front tires
repeat business is always a positive sign....hope I get 10K out of mineI am liking the feel of my new Hiedi....as expected some adjustment in technique is required to loft the front end on sand as it dosn't have the bite of the T63 or TKC80
Like all dual sport tires there's always some compromising I spose

Wow...I can't comphrehend 10K, as in my simple mind...distance=hard=no grip=shit... BUT the mitas E07 has changed that viewpoint. I had always been running tkc80's..and only getting a couple of 2K-4K + a few more depending on the miles incurred..so seeing that the E07's are still useable now after god knows how many kays (i;ve done 4K, previous owner ?K)...I'm starting to become a beleiver in performance and distance.
Perhaps run the i-din-know's on the rear, and then get a different for the front?
I'll get a scout rear, when the mitas wears out...eventually
you just never know until you try it yourself....some will run their tyres bald azz until the tube starts pokin out like hernia, an claim its still good.....me, I tend to ditch them when I have to put my glasses on to see the centre tread. Although with my eysight I may have to start using brail

thanks Clint...I wasn't sure if you had done the SI trip on them as well.
I'm up to nearly 18K on the bike now so that means I've done 4K since purchase, and they are still working (noting Nordies comments) I went up the maungatuk's and got up all the clay sections fine albeit some precise throttle management. My mate dropped around recently and the first thing he noticed & surpised was that the tyre was still looking good..considering our point of reference has been TKC's and how much extra power the 690 has at the wheel
v
Cant see myself buying another TKC, they are way to expensive for the life expectancy, especially as half the knobs disappaer in the first 500-1K's...T63 is cheaper and seems to keep the tread a bit longer...mine has done about 2k and has heaps knobby left. I'm saving it for the next Capital Coast Ride.![]()
