A beaut day so moneybags and I decieded to go for brunch Mokou ,but half way up mt Messanger going about 50k around a bend I think a bit of loose metal sent me on my way two bike lengths later I was in a little gutter with my SV1000 on top.Shit it hurts!!! How the hell do those guys crash in Moto GP etc run get on their bikes and carry on.Three cars pulled around me and carried on before some young lads stopped and lifted the bike off me another local went to the top and called the police/ambulance/etc the first response ,an Waitara cop were fantastic,.no sarcastic or negative coments the cop arrange to get my bike down .I Thank them all!

Oww. Likely the council will cover your uninsured losses on that. They are not supposed to leave unsignposted loose gravel around.

Lots of people claim and get payment for that. Perhaps a few of those people will post here and assist you.

edit: Ahh I see you are a bastard.

Glad you're well enough to post. Much damage to the bike? Question for the more experienced on KB, what's the best thing to do in the aforementioned circumstances, I assume, leave the brakes and throttle alone and ride it out? or will it just go down? answers please in a plain brown envelope.

I didn't go to Mokau this weekend so I'm three weeks out of date, but a lot of the loose metal on that road comes down from the hills above. I suppose the OP could consider a claim against God?

Why not call them and tell them about it so they clean it up ? Would save you the trouble of picking gravel out of your arse, as well as the paperwork.

sorry to hear that. Hope you and the SV are ok. Same bloody thing happened to me on a GB400, 50 metres away from Wellington hospital. Picked myself up, noticed my forearm was snapped ( looked like I had a 2nd elbow in my arm ) walked into the hospital, dosed up on morphine, next day had a plate put in my arm, which is in there for life.
Bike was written off, didn't think to follow up with the council.
