Thumbs down Good reason to take mate riding!

So they can help you lift a big heavy DR out of a bog.
Thought I would explore a different route through St James. Well after finding my way past the DOC locked gate headed off towards the Edwards Valley by way of some tussocks flats. First obstacle narrow but deep creek with high sides. Well managed to find a away through and carried on until the tussocks were so large and close together couldn't ride over or around them. At this point I decided to backtrack a bit...bad move, ended up in a swamp and after about 30 metres ended up stuck down to the axles. Well after lying bike on its side and much grunting managed to get it out only to ride into another bog. So had to lay it down again as the suction of the mud was such I couldn't lift it. After juggling the back wheel out went to lift the bike up....result knee deep in black mud. Well about an hour and much sweating later finally got it out and carefully walked it out and headed for home...mission abandoned.

Rarely have shit days at work :-) My work day involves riding quads, driving jetboats and chucking people off a bridge. Get paid to play!

Given enough time you generally can dig your way out. Bloody frustrating though aye

Anyone ever had to spend the night out after getting stuck? or had to walk out.
I mentioned vegetables once, but I think I got away with it...........

Only 'cause the gate at the skifield end of the Rainbow was locked.
    Flat tyre, flat battery.
So dark you couldn't see the road, trees, sky or fords...
    Walking by feel and sound.
Crossing fords by feel is freaky...

Still got to be better than sitting behind a desk being in a job that is dull.
