Just got back West from Kingsland. Came the whole way in the left lane, no traffic in it. Just going past the Gt Nth Rd on ramp (which has it's own (empty) lane) when this guy at the front of the line of traffic joining the NW motorway cuts right across in front of me and pushes into the right hand lane. I moved into the left lane and continued on in my own lane again.
If I was a cop I'd have pulled him over just to ask "why?".
Can cops do that, and do any of you ever do it?? I really wonder what people are thinking sometimes, presuming of course that they are, which is probably unlikely most of the time.
my point exactly. why? wtfwhy?!?!?! grrrrr.. pointless and fukin stupid.
I now declare the left lane the 'fast lane'. The other two are for fukwits.
I've often travelled at a pace past slower moving traffic in the left lane, and still, no one thinks 'oh look, a free lane that car/bike has just gone past in..'
FMs!!!!!!!!!
I want to know why at a two lane light everyone will line up in the same lane. Both of them go straight so why does everyone go to the same one? Admitedly the road will merge to one lane ahead but thats not for a good hundred meters or so. They can keep doing it if the want cause I'll just go to the empty lane and get out in front but I just want to know why?Originally Posted by bugjuice

You see that really noticeably on the Southern Motorway, round RamaRama , where there is that extra lane for "slow traffic". Because no-one wants to drive in the "slow traffic" lane ("I'm a fast safe driver, I'm not gonna drive in no slow lane" ) it is usually empty, allowing to blat happily along it at whatever speed I feel is plod-safe (limit is the same as the other lanes) . Same on the Northern where there's a couple of "slow traffic keep left " lanes.Originally Posted by bugjuice

Seriously though, youngsters are often more impatient when it comes to being on the road. If you don't check that impatience and you're driving a cage (bikers are far too sensible to be one of them), then you can easily become a hoon, or drive dangerously.
It is also mightily amusing to pull up next to this person - who was driving like a bat out of hell - at the next set of traffic lights.
I once saw a hoon who pulled across oncoming traffic to turn into a shopping area because 1) he was in a rush, 2) didn't bother to make sure 3) assumed incorrectly. Luckily the victim was a cage, and it was a fender bender.

Lol I'm not often in a hurry. Whether I'm on the bike or not. If I see that all the cars are in one lane at the light I'll change to the empty one well before I have to stop. I don't even lane split on the bike often. I just don't like following cages cause they sometimes slow down for now reason and that worries me.Originally Posted by Gremlin
