Theres actually a brand new two story Police station in Glen Innes now. I think its under siege by the locals at the moment though.

I was tempted to lure a couple out with doughnuts and stow them in the boot (brilliant plan, fell through only because the boot was totally full with Mrs Ixion's luggage. - we were going away for two whole nights so the amount of packing required filled the boot and the back seat. I put my overnight bag under my seat. Never have understood that )

Mr Robinson is going to get a bleat about this for sure.
Interesting cop to population ratio in Paeroa ... 1 to about 333. I say interesting because according to the Counties Manukau Eastern Area Commander, the eastern area (covering Otara, Pakuranga, Howick, Botany, Whitford, Beachlands, Maraetai) has a cop to population ratio of 1 to 1250.

Not sure what the ratio would be around Panmure and surrounding areas but it wouldn't be 1 to 333.

    BC.

We used to have 4 for about 2000 people. Then they took them all away and sold the police station. So now our ratio is 0 to 2500 !

They say that they service Panmure out of Glen Innes but the reality is that GI and the waterfront take all the resource and we never see a (non HP/non speed camera) cop at all .

It's an ongoing battle between us and Robinson, Hawkins, Palmer and Gavin Jones (if he's still acting Area Commander)

We will not take no for an answer !

They have no cops in Pamure because:
    1) No police would like to live there because they are scared of the new locals(foreigners)
    2) They are hoping all the foreigners are going to kill each other

I think Gavin Jones is now Superintendant and is the Auckland City District Commander (which covers GI and Panmure among others).

Paeroa station would be like any other rural station in that they cover a large rural area, not just the wee town that is home to the police station.

They probably have 5 - 6 GDB cops, two or three traffic cops, a boss and possibly a detective and a youth aid cop to cover all of the requirements of what would no doubt be a large area with a population of well over 4000.

I don't know anything about Paeroa ststion, I've never been there and I don't know anyone that works there but that would be my guess as to the staffing at this station.

I suspect you're right Spud, their population and general demographics seem to match where i am and we have pretty much the 'cop population' you quoted above.

I grew up in Paeroa, and it's not just the township that they have to look after, there is the small townships that dot the country side in all 4 points of the compass at about the 10 km mark, each have 100-200 people, plus all the farmland to patrol. Not quite the gateway to prime growing land, think more Thames way, but I do know of one idiot that I went to collage with how got caught growing his own.

The thing is, if you have more resources, you can do more with less when it is scaled up. just like one man can't lift half a paino, but 2 men can easliy life a whole one.
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.
