    Knee braces

Rode dome valley for the first time ever in the weekend, had a blast and found it a fast and fun place tho had a nice spill getting cross-rutted and ending up down a bank on my last loop and in turn slightly iritated an old sports injury in my knee. Tho i knew it was most likly going to happen one day i think i got off rather well from it

I currently strap it up when i ride and have some ok knee guards.... Tho i think its time for more extreme protection to minimize any further problems.. better to try and prevent it......

had a look around on-line at all the different ones available.. anyone have any opinions on what they found was the best .... and what wasnt that great..

You guys should learn to use search there was a thread quite recently on this! LOL!! Here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ht=Knee+braces

Best protection you will get for $150 are these http://www.mrmotorcycles.co.nz/produ...oducts_id=1909.
I've got them, my son has, and I've seen them on a few riders. Not quite knee braces but pretty damn close, much better than knee pads thats for sure!! Fit well and give really good support!

Otherwise you will be into proper braces anywhere between $500-1000
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

the old pods are on sell out, and you can get them new for almost that money,

imo Asterix are far better than pods, but at $1099 RRP pretty pricey, you can adjust the fit a hell of a lot better as well,

the force knee guards are a good middle option for the money

Ive got a pair of these and they have saved me a lot of pain already. Be aware though; they can / will rub the shit out of the back of your knees. Im going to make some sort of knee sock thing to sort this out. They take a little while to used to but once you do you feel a lot safer. I wouldn’t ride with out them… mind you I spend more time on the ground then on my bike.

You can get elastic "knee support bandages" that will do what it sounds like your needing. Bought some recently (can't remember where from tho but they had them cheap as hell) and thinking they were singles I bought 2 and ended up with 2 pairs. Your welcome to the other pair if we happened to be at the same ride sometime.

Get some of these http://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/T...el-logo-shorts they will stop gorilla arse as well, and go under the top strap of your braces as they come down to just above your knee.
I got some last week for walking at $24 bucks on special, they come around quite frequently for that price!

If you can't wait pay the extra over their retail try some of the Fox MX undershorts you can find them for around $60 which is what I use everytime I go out, but the cycle shorts do a very similar thing without the hip padding. Just make sure they are long enough to go to your knee for your braces. You can also get socks that come up over your knee for braces.

Just a couple of ideas to try!

Yep they look good Scott! Good price too!
Mine are black though, so can wear them home after riding as they don't look quite so much like undies LOL!! But I wouldn't ride with out them now, bloody good I reckon.

You can buy over the knee MX socks for that, bit of a rip off tho. I got some over-knee socks at the warehouse and they're great, a whole $9.00! A set of those crappy fabric knee supports from most $1 2 3 shops would do the job too I suppose.
