    I don't know.
Couldn't you do with an extra 1000cc sometimes?

Well that's some pretty impressive stuff from a road bike then! Take a good look at the photos and see how the exhaust is standing up to the punishment. In that mud race Jimmy Lewis's bike overheated from all the mud on the motor - but the same thing happened to the 4 teams in front of them...water cooled with high radiators.BMW have been taking their flat twins off road from way back, they used to do the ISDT in the 60s - it just seems so wrong that a wide low flat twin can do so well off road, goes against all logic....and embarassing to those they beat.

Not with the winter coming up really. I wouldn't need all that power

Nice innit - i'm going to try and scam a ride - i'll keep you posted if/when.
It is your duty to take one of these on a trail ride. It's the only fair way to test one. Then the guy people are looking at & thinking "what's that idiot doing here on that bloody ginormous boat anchor of a trailbike" won't be me.

Well, the Wehrmacht models in the Western Desert were pretty much off road! With added extra of people trying to blow them up.

If the terrain isn't cluttered (narrow trails between trees, boulders etc) there's no reason why a flat twin should be disadvantaged. And they have the advantage of simplicity .
