    Mysterious compartments of joy

    Hey all,

I was giving the Bandit the onceover the other day. I saw some screws attatching the rear seat to the frame, as I was in a destructive mood I undid them. Took the seat off and what should I find? I looks like an ancient artifact, but no... it's the original toolkit!! Found the Digital Igniter under there too.

I was rather chuffed and rather puzzled at one tool which I have no idea what it does.... any chance it could be a cam chain tensioner?

Anyway, what other goodies have you discovered on your bike(s)??

Is it the strange tool that looks like a bit of pipe that someone has sat on?

I have no idea what this is for, one day I'll get around to asking the mechanics at colemans.

On ATYB's Bandit, we replaced the rear seats screws with wingnuts. Kind of a stupid design that requires you to have tools to get to your toolbox DUH!

This is the bootspace of a Honda CB400!! huge!

The tool kit is too short to put a full length one in so it is in two halves.
the other things in the picture in case I am looking at the wrong thing are your fingers.. used amongst other things for gripping. I see a steel rule on your desk which is for measuring things accuratly.. normally used by carpenters and draftsman and the like.. Your desk.. for putting things on.
Your keyboard.. is for typing questions.
The red book looks like notes of some description.. probably for studying.
The CD's are probably not genuine but are actually CD/Rs or maybe DVD/Rs.... mainly used for playing of games and listening to music, normally pirated from websites on the internet....which your keyboard is also handy for... some use them to watch movies..even porn.
    Anything else just ask.
Er thanks. The cd on the my math 150 notes is the linux technical resource kit that novell sent me. On the left they aren't cds, they're cassettes (though theres the DX SDK 8.1 on mini cd above it)! I don't have many illegal cds anymore, I've got 2, out of hundreds (and only because I can't get legit copies of those final two cds).

Mrs H, occasionally. Despite once dumping her on the road. I am a very lucky boy...

My bike's ignition keys after they got locked in there!

Come on admit, how many of you have done that too?

Fortunately I was at home, so the spares were handy.

    Edit:
I read people have to unscrew stuff to get at their tool box. What?
With every Suzuki I've owned, it's just a matter of removing the seat either by unlocking it or a flick handle, and there they are held down by big black rubber band.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

thats the stupidest thing, both my suzukis had tool boxes with a hefty screw to lock it shut, also it was exposed to the elements and prone to rust fusing the threads together. GOOD STUFF SUZUKI

cant complain with the zxr but it didnt come with tools... but it has plenty of space for them. Popped into Supercheap and saw they had a $10 mini tool kit with basically everything i'd need for minor roadside problems, and it would fit perfectly in the space provided - but i didnt feel like buying tools that day

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

The VifFerraRi has a tool kit (plus a couple of extra tools), a disk lock, a cigarette lighter plug on an extension cord, and a coiled up cord with plug for the battery charger, should I ever need it.
There's also room for a U-lock to park (plastic moulded to fit one), but apparently there are not many (if any) that fit - probably only a genuine Honda one that costs $2563.48, and is only available on back-order from Honda, delivery 9 weeks via a slow cargo boat.

I could probably fit stuff under the rear seat cowl, but I've never tried, as it requires an allen key to remove (which must be done before youcan get the seat off, if the cowl's fitted ).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    ..
Toolboxs with screw fasteners, the screw is usually designed so as to be able to be undone with a coin.

I found a spider that had made himself a home on my bike. He was quite happy to travel with me all over the place and there were plenty of free meals for him. I called him Horace. Sadly Horace chose the wrong time to poke his head out of his hideyhole one day and got blasted with a jet of water from the hose. All I found of him was one leg.
