    $580 total.

Just get another mirror and for goodness sake, sort out your rear brake, IF you had total front brake failure what would stop you?? - apart for the Stagecoach bus that has pulled out on front of you!!
THAT'S IT - I'M CATCHING THE BUS UNTIL MY BIKES FIXED.

So sorry guys I'm not meeting you guys tomorrow at Westgate.

I'm sure Mr JustSomeGuy will fix his brake and attend to the other matters as soon as his part arrives.

While not approbating the lack of WOF, I must admit to some sympathy. It is I think a very difficult question now with bikes, because local bike shops stock hardly any parts.

So if something is needed for a WOF , the odds are the part must come from the manufacturers warehouse in Outer Waziristan. Delivery time many weeks. And in the meantime (the WOF expiring in middle of this) one must either take the bike off the road(yes, I know, the proper and lawful course, but difficult if it is one's sole means of transport), or risk running without a warrant.

Or, effectively reduce the 6 moth warrant period to 5 months by taking it in a month or so before the old one expires. So that if something needs to be done one can do it before the current one expires. But it irks me enormously, six months is enough of a nuisance, five is worse.

I once tried to be clever and took the bike in a month in advance, having removed the tail light bulb. My theory was that if it would have passed, but for the non working tail light, I would have "lost" the month. But now the tail light would cause it to fail. I then wait a month and take it back, with tail light in, and get my full six months worth.

Alas for such clever schemes, the helpful tester passed it anyway, with a friendly "I'll pass it but yer tail lamps gone. Get another bulb on the way home". Nice chap, but he ruined a cunning wheeze.

I can understand the importer not stocking this part.... How many of us have ever broken this bit on any road bike? They may have this part in the warehouse connected to a complete rear master cylinder for $250 and probably expect that most people would get the part from a wrecker.

Well Death and Draco were with me at the time I fell off and Death then fixed up the bracket - it had broken into bits....

Once fixed I went and saw Kerry who told me my best bet was to wait for the part......

So I didn't think of asking you......

.......well if you never heard of brake failure...... and I did replace my brake fluid about less than 300ks ago - thanks madguitarist and FEINT and limmy

How bout I come down and show you the part?? When's a decent time??
