Yeah fully support that, would be a very good way of preventing 15 year olds going out in skylines and wrx's.

3rd party insurance is cheap & anyone who drives/rides without it is a fool.

OK it doesnt cover your vehicle but it does cover the other guys expensive BMW etc when you both make accidental contact

Recently Ive had an uninsured young lady rear end my Beemer & its taken over 1 month so far to get it fixed.

The insurance company will be after her for, I estimate,$3500 restitution very soon & then she's got to somehow buy another car to replace her now very f*#ked one

A VERY EXPENSIVE ORDEAL FOR HER THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF SHE HAD [cheap] 3rd PARTY INSURANCE!!!!

    Here endeth the sermon

Why ? Third party doesn't cover damage to YOUR car, only the other guys. So how expensive your car is doesn't come into it. And performance would only come into it if we accept that performance = dangerous. Given that the whole of motorcycling pretty well revolves around performance I don't think that's somewhere we want to go.

Most of the boi racers don't damage other peoples cars, they write themselves off. So third party insurance won't make any difference.

And , real world now, how many 15 year olds are there in Skylines and WRXs. Very few, and those who are, you may be sure that Mummy or Daddy paid for the car. And Mummy or Daddy will just insure the car in their (Mummy/Daddy) name. No problem

This is just an emotive and illogical knee jerk. After all, thinka bout it. What does it boil down to. Answer, "If you have lots of money you must be a good driver (because you can afford insurance). If you are poor you must be a bad driver (because you can't afford insurance) "

Yeah what you are forgetting is how much it costs for a 20 year old to insure a $10000 wrx. Try around $2000 a year, and thats with a clean driving record. If not then they wouldnt get cover at all.

EDIT: Those figures are for full, its about $800 for 3rd party, but hardy any insurance co's will insure a "boy racer car" for someone under 25 anyway.

Not before time. How many people walk away from accidents with the words "Sorry mate, no insurance" Over the many years i've been riding I've seen premiums climb sky high, despite never having had a claim. Why the f--- should I subsidise these irresponsible bastards. Would like to think that if I ever get hit at least I won't have to pay for it myself. Do it the pommie way. No insurance=no Wof= no reg. You get caught and you get done for the lot, and it's expensive. Incidentally, My wifes car was hit by an uninsured driver. MY wife had to take them to court to claim damages on behalf of her insurance company. The court awarded $10 a week. Repairs cost over $3000. Hardly worth the day off work

    Yea verily, brothers & sisters

The Lord came & he spake unto me saying:

"Get yer f*#kin vehicles insured for 3rd party or the Debble will come & smite thy wallet & there will be wailing & gnashing of teeth"

He saw that the people were sad, pleading poverty & generally acting f*#ked off but still he urged them saying:

"My words have gone unheeded, so there has come a pestilance & it shall be called THE BOY RACERS, & they shall wreck havoc & shed death & destruction over all the land, so its best ye fork out B4 its too late"!

My brother was driving his work car, XJR Jaguar, if you know what it is you will know its worth over $150k. There was something going on on the motorway and he had to stop in trafic, the girl in a rust bucket behind him didnt. He was stationary, she was doing around a 100 at the time.
    ****BOOOOOOOOM****
Aprox $15k worth for poor girl to pay, as well as her car spliting, and i think the engine droped . No 3rd party either...
He tells me that the airbags worked magic, he just had a bit of a shock after it all hapened but all was well on his side.

The rust bucket hasn't got 3rd party because you can't get 3rd party for a vehicle under $1000 - I've had to bullshit the value of my cars many times. If it's compulsory it has to be all cars,no matter their value...

About time. This is will be good. At least when somebody runs in to you, you won't have to worry about losing your NCB.
