Well sorry I was taking the motu approach - I wouldn’t have interpreted my post as aggressive same way as I interpret yours.

Read the ad next time John, no sympathy here dude.
Um excuse me he edited the advert thankyou, never had 'not raced' in there before, when I saw it last night.

6k is not an uncommon ,Meter reading here most people tend to change the cars at around 10 000 km bikes are a wee bit higher ...

A lot of people get bonuses and will use that on a vehicle, only to let the bike sit and do nothing I can think of three friends with bikes ( bought on a whim) that are used maybe once a year if that ...

The thing that gets me is the gap of rego 89 to 95 .. its under 400 so doesnt need a shaken (WOF) but still needs to be reg with city hall every year ...( ie has a rego plate ) ie from 89 to 95 unless it was raced then I assume it wouldnt of had a rego plate

My MX bike was VERY VERY scruffy when bought on yahoo auctions ,,,but after stripping and rebuilding my opinion is that it has only been used a handfull of times ,,,So basically The new bike was left outside ......

Also...its an 89 two smoke ...for 3800?? Tad old ....original rubbers ...all the rubbers I have that havent been used are as hard as .... must buy a new pack
I would be discounting for tyres , and seals and a it may have been raced, discount
There will be other bikes so set your price accordingly and if another ( insert appropriate word) pays more then so be it

Finally any seller who calls a potential buyer a gumboot ...has errrr problems which can be helped with councilling

    Original seller Here
made no mention of being raced or not.

How does this seller know it's not been raced , I wonder ?

Don't understand his bitchy answer to Mr John's question, he bought the bike with Buy Now and was the only bidder.

Interestingly, neither party has lodged feedback over that trade.

Oh here we go, you're excused then! You are entitled to be contradictory John .

So why did you ask your question as though the bike had been raced, even though the seller never said anything about racing? It's obvious he took offence at you assuming the worst case scenario and leading other potential buyers away from what is probably a good buy!!

Come on gents, John asked a reasonable question. Ok - following the editing of the ad by this dork his question is now made to look a bit more aggresive but the guy makes bold statements in his add, and I for one would ask bold questions prior to buying the bike. Especially as the add is so strongly worded and defensively written.

Bottom line is this guy is rude and shouldn't be talking to potential buyers this way. Where does he think he is - here?

Of course - the customer is always right!? But surely the "gumboot" remark is relating to the seller possibly knowing this potential buyer who wasted his time in a previous sale? Read 2nd comment by seller.

You know we love you John, but have you got any witnesses that can testify that the accused did in fact edit the advert?

    Did read the comment
You stil dont call anyone a gumboot or any other comment ...trust me there are some highly challanged who are in the market and they may come back a hundred times asking the same anal questions , or stressing about a scratch on the tyre ( when they have missed a pool of oil under the bike) ...you smile and treat em with respect ,they wave the money that you want .... so yes the customer is right .....thats how you make sales ,,,,,treat all customers with the repect that you would like to be treated with ..regardless

I subscride to a search for "ZXR" on TradeMe, and I looked at this ad first thing this morning (at like 7am) and Joh is correct in saying this guy has changed the Ad.

    Joh = John lol opps

Yeah the Ad looks weird enough to put you off the bike, then he changes the Ad, puts you off further... then he's rude towards a potential buyer... what a wanker.

Proberly the best way to find correct information on the bike is to contact the previous owner and ask him/her.

But then again.... ZXR's are the BEST 250's so why even bother looking at that bike... buy a ZXR...

Yeah get that all the time on trademe. I just asked him the same question as john did. See if he bites again.

Looks like he bought it on wednesday and is trying to make some money on it.
