When I broke my wrist spilling off the 125 I still rode the bike (once it had been straightened up) and abseilled - the strip of plaster that went between thumb and index finger and across the bottom part of my palm rapidly became a grubby scrap of bandage with no plaster left in it - plenty of aluminium oxide powder (from the abseiling brake bar) and black rubber (from the bike's throttle grip) though...Originally Posted by Riff Raff
Bastard was when I finally got the cast off and my atrophied muscles wouldn't let me lift the jug to make a coffee, let alone ride a bike or abseil - I'd grown reliant on the plaster cast giving my wrist strength.
The period during which I gradually built up enough wrist strength to ride again was one of the most frustrating times in my life.
