Or alternatively run the gauntlet and bend over and take it like a man when and if the time comes
hmm...interesting...do you have to writte it as 'cbr' on the change of ownership papers or can you play with what it says on the rego?

yeah I was thinking of just copping the fine but I wanted to figure out how often I might actually get a slap on the hand.

    cheers

are 2 strokes any good for commuting in your oppinion? I've only heard negative oppinions about them unless you're over 150k's, which is the reason I didn't post a "2-strokes as commuters?" thred.

Dude, I ride a 750 on my learners, although I have had it for 12 years, and the cops tend to let me off.
But the $400 fine is a bitch, and I have spent three months without a liscence at all. Oddly enough I didn't stop riding then either, managed to bullshit my way out of that twice as well.
Guess I must be thick and lucky, or on to a winner

I know with cars you can register them as anything you want, eg: honda civic super fast special turbo.
I'm not sure what the deal is with bikes but it might be worth a shot.
Frosty's advice is the best though

the only good way to pull it off is to stick a 400 motor in you 250.
if your real smart youll grind 399cc(as they are usually sticky-outty) and stamp in 249cc or whatever, otherwise with plastics they would never really check.

You dont have to have certification to change engines last i remember and in all honesty if you did restamp motor, and we are talking say 2 bikes that were similar/similar motors, then hell, i cant see how you wouldnt get away with it unless you have a fatal accident whereby later they run the engine number or the likes and work things out, then your in trouble if you aint the one dead, but if you are the one dead you havnt got much to worry about.

Also last time i was done for a rather stupid/immature-on-my-part speed despite it, and the noise my bright yellow Viffer makes, the officer guessed it was a "VFR250" i dont know if he was trying to insult me/wind me up or honestly thought honda made one, and that it could have been a 250 going that well, but anyway, take care, whatever you do take care on it!

    I do not understand.

You had a beautiful 40hp+ bike. So you sold it for a 22hp Suzuki?

You should probably beg for your ZXR back :-(

You are supposed to get cerification for a motor change if the new motor is more hp than the old one.

But , with bikes, the odds of a testing station tester spotting the ring in would be very low indeed, I think.

Only thing is, it would almost certainly invalidate any insurance

    Wonder why someone doesn't make a 250 turbo ?

People, spec in NZ/UK where they have cc limits prob dont want 250s going 5000000000 ks an hour, 250s are for learners then ppl get bigger bikes pretty much

They dynamics make for a real pointless/inefficent way of getting more speed - fuel injection is the way, reliable and will get you 57bhp.
