    FAAARK!!! Now im getting impatient!

Okay, so im still waiting for my bike, was originally told six weeks till it would arrive - six weeks is this Saturday (give or take a few day's). Anyway so I ring the shop today and im told "looks like it won't be till end of this month, but prob beginning of July". (not their fault I know, and im not having a go @ the shop!)
I was supposed to be going up Taupo way's on the 24th, riding my own bike and going up with a few mates, now I cant Also seeing as I almost crashed my mates bike the other day im not to keen in riding any of my other mates bikes, needless to say their probably not too keen either!
So here I am bikeless for another weekend, and seeing as ive only just mananged to get my learners licence I NEED all the practice I can get . . .
Anyway end of rant, but I was hoping to see if anyone knew anywhere in Wellington that may let me "hire" a 250cc bike for a weekend to ride up the island on, or am I just dreaming?!

unless you are old and have a wad of cash you can't hire bikes. Why is it taking so long did you order a new one??? If so it They come in shipments but usually 2 months apart or so. People also had troubles when the new 636's came out
Lump lingered last in line for brains,
And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

Hmmm, no not old, and definately NOT alot of cash!! Bummer!!

And yea, I ordered a new one, their apparently "on the boat" now or in the next few day's or so, so not blaming the shop, they've been pretty fantastic to be honest. Its just that im EXTREMELY impatient, and was kinda looking forward to going for my first long ride on my own bike, but hey that's life! Guess i'll just spend the next few weeks drinking cant be all bad!

Does the shop have any second hand ones in stock of the same (or similar) model? If so have a talk, point out how the delay is affecting you, suggest that they 'laon" you the second hand one until yours arrives.

    Hmmmm

Bugjuice - Are you being serious??!! (im sure your not . . .)

Ixion - Good thinking, didn't even think about that!! However, im pretty sure that the shop would want it back in good condition - Im pretty sure that I couldnt guarantee that!

Looks like im just gonna have to "build a bridge" . . . . and buy shit loads of piss to console myself over the next few weeks or so

You will have this happen even once you get abike you learn to work around it (sadly), its best to get the 'anger' out of the system, the motorcycle industry relys on Ex-Japan stuff, and most of them dont understand english only part number

I very much am.. see this > < this is my serious face. I'd do it now if you had a bike here. You just sort it out with the dealer, go halves on a cheap ticket back to dorkland, and I'll see ya tomorrow!! I'd love to ride to welly, just don't want to do it there and back on my prescious.. that'd be double the k's on what I'm already trying to keep down. But for a one-way trip to Welly, it's nothing. The bike would still be being broke in by the time I got there. And, for the privalidge of doing it, I'll pay for the gas to get it there!! And make sure it's full when I drop it off..

if I could be more serious, I would be. I'd love to do that run. seriously really really.. serious.
And I wasn't as serious when I said I'd see ya this weekend, cos it doesn't happen that quick. But, if you were to buy a bike and wanted it down there, I'd be the first to stick my hand up, and seriously ride down the bike for you. I can even give you a couple of numbers to call to shop around for a bike up here, or just recommend you a place that you wouldn't go wrong.
I'd be happy to even take a couple of days off work, so that you could get it Friday, for the weekend. Couldn't think of anything better to do. I love to ride, I love NZ, I love to fly, and I could fit that all in a day (now there's a challange)..

    very very serious. really really
But you're the one buying the bike, so I can only hope. You're the one to make the calls, so don't let me bother you there

this is a 250 you're talking about, right?
