Best Kiwi back roads to ride?

I'm looking at organising an event next year taking in the best back roads of the North Island, preferably below Auckland. Can anyone recommend any great roads? The event will be over 3 days with the main purpose of riding along with some great partying and extra's like .............well, you have to wait and see. The evnt will be aimed at the man who LOVES his machine.

I'm no Kiwi and thus i don't know all the good back roads yet.

    All and any help appreciated.

PS: Please let me know if you would be keen to as spaces will be limited to about 100 bikes (Preferbaly single riders) Costs will include accomodation, breakie, dinner and drinks on arrival. The route will be a mixture of some nicer cruising roads along with some speed patches(obviously within the law) Gear will also be transported by us, so no need to carry it on your bike.

    That's a hell of a big group.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Yip

It's for a road bikes preferably 250cc plus though i'm looking at sports bikes(though any are welcome). The aim is some great riding roads with a few tasks to spice it up followed by a nice parties/get togethers every night. I'm thinking of starting the event at Taupo and getting people from everywhere in the North Island(Though South are always welcomed) to join. Plans are stil to be finalised. I hoping to get a big turn out

    In no particular order

    SH22 to Ngaruawahia
Kihikihi to Mangakino via Waipapa rd.
Parts of 32 and 41 down the west side of Lake Taupo
SH4 between Te Kuiti and Taumaruni
    THE FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY!
SH 4 from Raetihi to W(h)anganui
    SH2 from Opotiki to Gisborne
The road from Gisborne to Wairoa

Don't be fooled by the SH designation. Many of our state highways are little more than goat tracks - particularly 22 and 43.

There's plenty of others around down Wellington and Palmerston North area. Problem is getting there can be pretty mind numbing - you get to choose from SH1 or long boring straights.

    Suggested route....
    Day one - Taupo-Napier-Gisborne- Waioeka/Opotiki.
    Day two - Opotiki-Rotorua-Atiamuri-Mangakino-Benneydale-Taumaranui
    Day three - Taumaranui-Stratford-Wanganui-Raetihi-National Park-Tokaanu/Turangi-Taupo

Still reckon 100 is too many.

And 3 days is only scratching the surface of what is available...

The best roads that stick out in my mind are:

SH29, towards Tauranga over the Kaimai's
    Paekakariki Hill
and a little closer to home, SH16, the part before the lookout.

Yep, can't wait for a hundred partied up riders to come and be a nuisance on my favourite roads.
