If he's made to the hospital and still hanging in there that's hopeful. Those surgeon chappies can perform some pretty serious miracles nowadays( hoping he won't need miracles though).
Let's all keep on hoping, and praying for those who do that.

Awaiting the news that all is not as bad as it sounds.
I'm Just feeling really bad right now.![]()
Kia kaha Dave.
This is awful news (as it always is in these circumstances). All of us here have put our praying hats on & we sincerely hope that all will be well. See you back out there Dave.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
Got fingers crossed and hopin like heck hes ok.
Just got a txt from CSL thanks for update
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
good to hear something good to hear hes concious....best wishes to the family and dave stay strong![]()
I don't know what to say.
Just got back from the station after giving a statement and a visit from victim support.
I didn't see the accident cause Dave was behind me and I was concentrating on traffic ahead but I herd this almighty BANG and looked in my mirror to see the R1 minus Dave wobbling down the road.
Stopped on the other side of the bridge and ran back to find Dave pretty banged up but still conscious and luckily there was an ambulance 1 minute behind us so I let the professionals do there job.
After I had finished at the police station I phoned Dave's mum to find out his condition.....mulitple fractures, collapsed lung, internal injuries and in a great deal of pain.....doctors will know more after x-rays.
I will try again later to see how his condition is.
The R1 is history.....he hit the barrier so hard that the crankcase burst and sprayed oil all over the road.
If I hadn't talked him into going up the Hill for a ride he'd be ok.
Thanks to those who stopped to help.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
That bridge is a dodgey one alright, no room for error at all.
My thoughts are with ya Dave, hope to hear from you soon buddy. And my thoughts to VTWIN as well, it's never cool seeing ya mate go down, hope you're alright mate.
Cheers to all who keep the updates coming in, will keep my eye out while at work for any news.
Peace out.
Cheers for the call to crashe.
Thanks for the update VTwin......... shit mate![]()
Folks lets all send all the positivity and best hopes and prayers we can to Dave (stonechucker).

Dont be saying that buddy, in no way is it your fault mate, things happen as unfortunate as it is, but it's not because of you.Originally Posted by VTWIN

The world will look up and shout "Save Us!", and I'll whisper "no"
Bruce, please don't go blaming yourself for this.
You guys were both so good to me when I started riding; I know Stoney's learned heaps from you, as I did when I went riding with you. You are both patient, great people and I wish I was there to see you both.
Feeling so gutted and helpless stuck over here but thank God at least he IS conscious. Can someone let me know the details of the ward so I can ring or at least send something?
Having trouble believing this.
The world is my oxter
He was on his pride and joy R1. The bike's a wreck now, beyond repair. Hit the right hand side bridge railing, all right side of bike wrecked, tank opened up, engine casings and so on. Was puzzling that he hit the railing on the right when curving right you would expect a crash to send you into the left railing?VTwin had to go to the Police station to file a report so I doubt he will be able or up to posting anything here for awhile. Thanks Joni for the update on his condition. Great to hear he is conscious, I was really worried for him.Originally Posted by ZXR250_NZ

Don't even entertain those thoughts mate, just not worth beating yourself up over. We are all capable of making our own decisions, I know its natural to feel some responsibilty but please don't.Originally Posted by VTWIN
I was just talking to some friends about this. I was saying how great it is to be a part of this community, meeting people you might never have met, shooting the shit, having a laugh and learning from each other. The bad part is though when something like this happens, before to me this would have been an unknown rider having an accident. Thanks to this site it now is someone whose thought's I have read, comments I've laughed at and, well you get the idea. Got to take the bad with the good.
Hey Bruce,Originally Posted by VTWIN

It could have happened to anyone, anyday. Please don't blame yourself at all.
We all care about Dave but we don't want you to feel in anyway responsible for what has happened.

My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
Is it also your fault for making the road slippery?? And making him loose control???
mate even rossi crashes...... please have a.........
Try to stay calm - few deep breaths please
Stay positive - he should be doing ok - in a few months he'll be racing![]()

And hopefully the condition he's in sounds survivable. Bad but the sort of thing that once you've got to the hospital they can deal with.

it's so hard to take in... everyone feels it when a biker goes down especially one so well known and liked ... my best wishes to him after my accident earlier this week it makes u start to scrape the surface of what he must be going through i was lucky i only brokw an elbow..... praying he pulls thru hits u right there knowing a fellow rider has gone down
noone is gonna be blaming you bruce.

I just picked up on this after a phone call from MlCrises, Paulas and my thoughts and wishes are with you Dave.
Ive run out of fucks to give
Got to agree LB. Unless you knew he was going to have an accident before inviting him for a ride there is no way you can try and blame yourself. Thoughts with you as well though VTwin, never easy being involved in something like this. Even harder when it's a mate.Originally Posted by loosebruce
Thanks for the extra info guys, sounds like the injuries are serious (and painful) but not life threatening (well no more than life is threatened and fragile at the best of times).
Keep the updates coming please for those of us not in Wellington.
If any of you close friends want to organise a collection of some sort (cash is always more useful than flowers in at times like these) send me a pm as I'd be happy to contribute whatever small amount I can.
Let his family know where here thinking about them too.
