Should It be making that noise?

The rear shock, that is. i noticed it made quite a disturbing noise after i was getting rather creative with ridding of the pits on the front forks. I know that shocks are meant to make a noise but this is different, it only happens when you compress it, and then the normal air noise when you depress it. also it compresses quite a bit so im wondering if i should pump it up a lil bit coz im not a small guy by any means as mentioned in my other threads so if i did pump her up, would it be prone to break under my weight? should i be looking at getting a better shock ie ohlins or something? also i dont even know how to pump it up. my uncle mumbled something about doing it in small increments. any ideas?
