Bye Bye to the BB!

Yes folks it is true, I have delivered the BB to her new owner today, and I have to say did not shed a tear in the process.

Infact, it took me no time at all to realise just how wonderful riding my lovely Millie is by comparison.

We have been through a bit BB and me, here are some of the highlights...

I was escorted south by a filthy, harley riding, scumduck, I am pretty certain she only came with me to make sure BB was safely delivered and there was no chance of me bringing her back home

I managed to scare the crap out of myself on the Harbour Bridge when a camper van decided to stop for a while in lane 4, leaving me tippy toed and wobbling in the breeze for ages. The traffic in the next lane was not looking like letting a few bikes in so there we stayed That was the hardest hill start I have ever done

I dont have a right hand mirror on the BB anymore and riding with that enormous blind spot was a challenge at times. The weather was threatening, and I was really looking forward to getting off this bike for the last time Every bump in the road became nightmarish, with BB wobbling along. Her suspension is absolute crap

Not mincing any words here, I am very relieved I will NEVER have to sit astride her again!

She has gone to a wonderful, loving, new home The new owner not only knows all her faults and weaknesses, he managed to find a few more after we arrived. He seemed really delighted about it too

He has begun sourcing bits and bobs for her, and is going to take her to bits fully and restore her to her former glory She could not have gone to a more worthy guy. Mike, you better keep me informed of the progress or else!

No! The only reason I went is because the harley is filthy (truely it is) and I cant be arsed cleaning it so was hoping the rain would do that for me....

Ah, so the comma is in the wrong place then. It should read." a filthy Harley, riding scumduck.." Oh hang on... no... Other way around, "a filthy Scum..." Dagnab it! "A scumduck riding filthy Harley.." Oh, you know what I mean...!

It did the job it was intended to do (and very well for the best part) but it became to be like one of those jersey's nana once knitted for you...
On the bright side....it sold for the same amount I paid for it some four years ago so no complaints. And its gone to someone who will ...resuscitate it?...

But dang! lunch was muchly yum as...

I really enjoyed my time with her for sure. We had lots of fun, she taught me lots of lessons. I started a new job 3 months ago, it involves a 95 km per day commute, I needed reliable wheels to do it and frankly I did not trust the BB to do the job without letting me down.

The bloke that has her now is a Yamaha nut! He hopefully will get her sparkling again.

I took the car the day the cyclone landed in Albany, I did not fancy riding in the forecast thunderstorms. The bloody thing went past the end of the driveway at work, so I am pleased I made that call

The only bike I regret getting rid of was a JR50 (I think it was JR) It was a tiny little Suzuki Chopper styled bike. Was bright green and had a tear drop tank and slightly raked forks. Very cool little bike. Had my very first altercation with a car on that bike It used to fit in the back seat of my car (AP5 Valliant) so we took it everywhere with us

Easy, peasy. Grip with your knees and relax your arms. Keep your revs up a bit so you are riding not just cruising and go with the flow. I have a few areas on my trip where I get wind shear from gullies, I have been known to laugh out loud when I get side swipped by them

haha have you seen what I ride, not much chance of gripping that with knees, doesnt work with sit up cruisers but staying relaxed & loose does. wasnt as bad as I expected even at Karaka inlet where the wind funnels in across the Mway.
