    ummm

one day, on my xj900 i bolted a side chair unit.

mud boy was around 2 years old

i managed OVER 200ks on it WITH HIM in it!!!!

the bike cost me 10k brand new.......

now i know that the speedo would be out... but even if it was 10-15% out.. it was not much slower.....

not trying to put anyone down here.. just trying to put things into perspective..(SP?)

    what a ride so far!!!!

Awesome to hear they broke the record Still would like to know what the restrictions are for this record as they must be pretty harsh. They've past "Roxanne" but have a long way to got to bet a Busa. Top job anyway dudes

Ok then go out and get that sidecar, bolt it on and beat the record. Show him that 250k was way too much to spend and it can be done with $10k

Agreed side cars are the most hideous of all invention's.....they are weird, unbalanced......i look at them and think why don't you try two sidecars....at least it would be symetrical......still look like a train crash but!

you have to realise that it was back in 1987... and 10k was HEAPS!

Just some of the regs they had to adhere to for those of us (like myself) that didn't know (see attachment).

Lucky he didn't use a perfectly good motorcycle then, he only used a GSXR1000 instead

From Jan 1 1962 it became obligatory for 132lb (60Kg - see much simpler) of ballast carried on a sidecar that had to be similar to those used for road racing, complete with platform and nose fairing.
No more "wheel on a strut" outfits.

No two strokes allowed ? Why everyone beat up on the nice two smokers ? After all Scott was the architypical sidecar bike.

have a look in projects at the V4

We had a look at some jetski motors, but them you have to hook up a transmission etc, although a guy in Canada runs a snowmobile motor/trans in one of his
