BFTP goes to Rotorua.

BFTP did a run to Rotorua. The Aucklanders went via Te Aroha to meet up with the Waikato members and one member came up from Napier!!!!
The Commando did over 500kms today and its a hard old ride on a winters day.
The Revitt winter gloves I got from Motomail proved to be very warm and not too bulky.

I was coming on this ride...I got up this morning and checked my rear tyre after needing to put air in on Friday night...pressure was down again,added some air and buggery bollocks I could hear the air escaping....so I took the dog for a long walk instead....Bugger Bugger Bugger...Still sounds like it ws a good ride...Hopefully I,ll attend the next one..

I noticed the oil pressure stayed up well over 30 for some time, before settling on just over 20 PSI at over 3000 rpm. The high pressure is when the oil took advantage and tried to escape...
Would have been a lot colder wearing BFTP riding gear ....a Brando jacket,open face helmet, jeans and work boots.

Had a great Norton moment when a Morris 1000 came into view...... doing about 70kmph on the open road....

I saw that Morrie. He was chugging along at about 45mph. with a queue of about six cars behind him. NOT his fault! He was pulled so far over to the left that I don't know how he would have found his way back onto the road. The dick wit behind him simply wouldn't overtake. I gave him a friendly wave, he had to be a Good Chap.

Well I don't have ABS and 4 valves to go on about..... I have a nice BMW /5 drum that would fit nicely if you wanna ditch that evil hydraulics.

I wish I could replace the rear disk with a drum, I have never understood disk brakes on the rear what bike could possibly put out more braking on the rear than a decent drum can provide.

The early k75 had a drum rear and I'd happily retrovett, but I think I'd need a new final drive unit and a new rear wheel which is a bit major ( and presumably some mods to the actual levervand so on)
