    Motorcycle Parking in Auckland City

    Ahead of this

Where do you think the City needs more parking?
Current list & map of places is here

Specific spots would be good, like the corner of x & y, or next to b on c road. Also looking for where bikes are being parked on footpaths in groups

Ponsonby Rd. All the way along. Jervois Rd, at the 3 lamps end. Newmarket is real bad, they took away most of what there was. Quite a few bikes park (used to anyway) on the footpath outside that 247 or whatever number it is place. Parnell, especially at the upper end of the strip. Down the bottom of Queen St, the lower bit, too far from Britomart in one direction and too far from Aotea in the other. Lower Hobson St. They deliberately bollocked up the parking area on private property opposite the old Farmers building. Down around Victoria market needs some. Newmarket is the worst. It's really bad. Needs at least another 50 places. Along the far end of K road/Gt north rd (is it Gt Nth or New Nth). Along by the end of Ponsonby Rd.

Skycity parking needs a bit clarification on where motorbikes can park.

Never had a problem parking in the city.

The car park guys tell you that so long as you don't take a space or block anyone in, then its free.

A few more in front of the central library would be great. Since the changes on Symonds Street, the library parking has been chaotic and some people have no idea on parking etiquette - I like my wing mirrors where they were thanks. No need to adjust them for me.

Just make it legal to park on footpaths as long as it isn't obstructing anyone and be done with it.

Would that be for bikes only or for all vehicles?

Anything that wouldn't damage the footpath or grass etc.

Turn one pay and display carpark in every street in cbd to motorcycle parking. Each should be able to take 3-5 motorcycles. Could encourage more people to get into biking for commuting, decreasing congestion and overall increasing the chances of cars getting parks.

But what's in it for the council? Easy answer - when the bike park is empty cars will use it, so the ACC will get to issue an infringement notice and earn more revenue in fines! It's a win-win situation!

    Parking in Auckland CBD?

    Hey guys,

I recently got a new job in town, which means i will need to comute to the city everyday.

So i thought this was a great time to get a road bike.

How ever there is just one thing i cant get my head around, how do you guys display your parking ticket?

Do you even pay for parking?

Any tips and tricks would be great!

    Cheers.
