How is water getting past your spark plug?
If you dont have waterproof plug caps, get some!
that should be your only problem.
Take your original cap into the bike store, and get a water proof version.

Waterproof plug caps are the caps that plug onto the spark plug and HT lead.
You can get caps with rubber bits on each end of the cap, so it seals around the spark plug and stops any water getting in.

Do this right and you can ride with the plug totally submerged in sea water. (So long as your air intake is above water level !. And don't close the throttle unless your exhaust outlet is also above water level !. )

Don't confuse education with intelligence.
There are alot of highly educated idiots out there.
how do ya know if its water proof or not and why would water in the plug cap kill the motorOriginally Posted by Sparky Bills
energy would be lost through the water earthing the HT lead to the engine other than directly through the plug is my guess, you know if its water proof if it still goes when you get it wetOriginally Posted by crazyxr250rider

They look different. Sort of like a condom for spark plugs. Water (dirty water anyway, which it will be ) is nice and conductive. Your spark merrily takes the nice eay short cut through the water to earth, instead of doing the hard yards jumping across the spark plug gap. Therefore no spark, motor he no go.Originally Posted by crazyxr250rider
