Yeah good point... might need a side order of surface to air missles.

Can I have that to go? Oh, and a large coke - no ice

That's the real thing alright, not a chinese Chiang Jiang painted up with a toy gun - check out the fat front tyre and air filter up on the big tank....the price confirms it's something special too! I thought most of the German outfits were flat 4 Zundapps...but I've never seen either in the flesh anyway.

Back when the world was a gentler place...

We used to go into town for burgers in this guys WW2 jeep with dummy twin .50cal machine guns. All dressed up in old army greatcoats and shit.. Heaps a fun...

For a brief time I owned a Daimler Armoured Scout Car... (dad was pleased to see that rumble up the drive - not). It was really a light recce vehicle but it was a blast to drive around town on a friday night... Mine was a bit chopped up but fun never the less. 5 speed pre selector gear box, full time 4WD, seperate rev / fwd gearbox (5 forward and 5 rev gears), 4.5 litre engine...

We also had first dibs on a 'Honey' light tank (that was the british name - it was really an american lend - lease Stuart M3) but none of our folks would let it live at their place... rotters. It had a radial engine and was the coolest thing I ever saw.

I think mostly zundapps and flat head BMW's with a few latter OHV ones. Later on the Germans realised the VW based car thingy was a better bet and the Jeep better still.

My Dad was in the engineers attached to front line units as a mechanic and they used to 'liberate' them (had to be careful of booby traps) and strop them about. He reckoned they were bloody wonderful machines.

    Nice looking machine alright.
Shame about that extra zero in the price.

Without sidecar, there's an army green bike of close vintage running around my neighbourhood. Dude rides it frequently too. Probably every 'fine' weekend. Thought it was a trail bike by the engine sound (large cc single banger and makes the exhaust whistle sound), that was till I spotted it.
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.
