Also get any prospective bike checked out by a bike shop or knowledgeable mate.

Make a list of a few possible bikes in Auckland and make a day of it, also check out shops up there, most have websites listing their bikes.

    Good luck.
Thanks, definately taking my time. Whatever I end up with has to do me for awhile. Will be a long time before I can afford to upgrade/buy something else

Kwaka ER6L is, I take it a nobbled version?

Edit: Don't rate the Beemer for what you want, but don't let that stop you taking it for a wee test ride.
    ER6L?

May have to stay 600 or under due to rego costs So that rules out the Beemer anyways...

    Sorry, ER6-N, like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/moto...-518761778.htm

ER6-NL is on the list, but I suspect the"L" is significant.

Pity, nice machine that fits the brief.

Edit: There's an older ER500, (500cc) that's on the list... but none on TM.

A Bandit will start with GSF. Like GSF250, 400 etc

Have we got the 650L here yet? It'd make the new EX300 thing completely redundant.

The ER500 are an excellent little bike

That is a nice bike! I just have to be careful where the pegs are, I need to stay away from the lower, "racing" type position.

Sold an ER6F last year, (faired version), not too sport-scrunched.

Re ergonomics, have a play with this: http://cycle-ergo.com/

Edit, (again). ER6 very similar shaped ergos to that Suzuki 500 that's sold. Worth keeping an eye out for another one...

Straight face, must keep a straight face

Righto, I have been to all (I think all) of the bike shops in hamilton and sat on a few of the bikes I like the look of, if nothing more than to get an idea of what they feel like as they are mostly out of my price range. I did rather like the Honda CBR250 but have been told I would need a bigger bike for the long distance trips I am planning to do
