Have a think about ... and discuss with your Mentors ... about fitting wider flat bars instead of the cruiser style you have now.

    1. Less flex/vibration in the bars.
    2. Sitting/leaning forward seems more comfortable for you.
    3. Better control at slower speeds.

It's a common alteration for the GN.

It sounds like cockish behaviour to me. But then Motorbikes seems to bring that out in people.

Blazing up behind someone on a windy section of road, and passing them with the barest gaps (this is my take on what happened approximately) sounds like a dangerous bastard of a thing to do. Also sounds like someone who probably couldn't stop if anything unexpected turned up on the other side of the road. I don't see why my day should be ruined because some idiot has a death wish?
Popped up on the front page under general biker ravings, i do not lurk in the newbie section.

But if you cant over take a CAMPER VAN within 5kms, you shouldn't be riding. I hate it when I get held up in the twisties by some noob on his ducati 748 (etc) who doesn't understand the principal of leaning, and applying throttle.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

Nah, that's not what I wrote. The guy passed me at the last minute just before the coast road turns into 5kms of no passing. Unless you want to get sliced up on those nice cable seperator-thingies. Even the guy who buzzed me wasn't game for that.

    Bosslady's right. Manners is manners.

However, if that guy had fallen off his bike I would have been the first person to stop and help him.

Actually ... you wrote "as you got to the road comes to the coastal bit" ... not before it.

You were surprised as you were overtaken .... Or because you were overtaken ... ???

If you are not going to overtake ... move a bit to the left so others can. (it might be seen as rude not to)

I assume it's from Top Gun where they 'Buzz the tower' as in fly really close to it. Thinking more recently, it sounds sexual alright

No, I wrote, "Just as the road comes to the coastal part..."

I was to the centre-left, he passed me, at speed, with about 5 metres spare. I estimate he'd been going about 140kph. I'd only just checked the mirrors and he came in at a hell of a clip. Hence my surprise/disgust.

more like 120kmh++ vibrations... but I don't seem to ever quite make it...
Becoming fearless isn't the point. That's impossible. It's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.
