I notice a lot ot talk about adjusting gearing.
I did on the Yamaha and it certainly helped that bike as the power band was quite high in the rev range.
On the Yamaha the speedo is driven from the front wheel, so remains accurate.
When I got the K3 from LooseBruce the speedo was reading about 35km faster than actual. i.e. at 100kph the speedo was reading about 135.
I have gone back to a 17 front but the rear is still at 47. it is now about 10% out i.e. at 50 it reads 55, at 60 it reads 66, at 100 it reads 110.
It is not only the speedo which is out, but the odometer. LB's GSXR reads 35,000km on the speedo, but has possibly only travelled 25,000. This has a direct impact on resale value.
So how do you adjust your speedo for a gearing change on a modern sport bike?
