Actually I think I have seen it claimed that those who are well over the limit have very seldom gotten so at a licensed public house.

The landlords nowdays have concern for their licenses.

'Tis much more likely that they got tanked up at a party, or their home, or some mates house. Or just beach/park whatever.

Bound to be exceptions , of course.

I think it's a good idea to post the leaflets. If it keeps one selfish bastard off the road so that he doesn't possibly kill or injure an innocent person then it's money well spent IMO.

    Isn't prevention better than cure?

I'd rather sit in a nice warm mufti car just out of sight and listen to a little Johnny Cash than hide in a bush with a radio while some other prick sits in the nice warm marked car around the corner.

I guess that sounds semi-plausable. Do you reckon that's actually the reasoning behind it though that's going to be put into practice?
I couldn't say what they intention of the cops refered to in that letter might be but its what I would do in the circumstances.

So, you sit in nice warm marked car and make recruity stand in the bsh. Less work, cos you don't even have to stay awake until recruity radios that he's got a punter.

You don't need to be that sophisticated, the bozos just drive on out regardless, - if the cop car was across the entrance they would probably plough into it.

You obviously have a much more "sophisticated" standard of drunkard down your way. You're not still working in Gore are you? (We need a banjo player emoticon )

Nah, but one night me and the booze-bus guys circled the Rosebank Lodge in Balclutha like Indians round the wagon train - and STILL picked up four drink drivers!!
Bring back cave man days!! the lions would have bumped off the bozos!!
