    Helmets confiscated?

I went to rialto last night, and they confiscated our helmets apparently we're terrorists or something.
I handed over the helmets so I didn't spoil a good night.

Anyways, I went back today and got a different story from the manager that has to with fire regulations. But that's screwy because hoyts don't confiscate them.

And I don't really want to put my fragile safety equipment in the hands of others. Especially how it now has white scuff marks on it.

I have flip up helmets and often wear them through stores with the frount up with no complaints. I take them off for banks, post shops and signposted stores.

What other places are confiscating helmets?
Are we safe in handing them over to someone who doesn't recognise the danger of "one impact"?

I wouldn't.. all it'd take is one clutz who has no idea about them or what they're doing, to drop/bang it or drop something onto it, then it could be unsafe. Thing is, are they willing to pay for a new one?

I'd just say to them and make it clear - either I watch the film thru the visor on my helmet (cos it has one of those cool red/blue visors that makes everything 3D), or I leave and not come back, and tell all my biker friends about this, who in turn, tell their friends, and so forth. I'm going to the cinema down the road, that will allow me to keep my property. Now give me a free icecream with nuts please.

It was me - I caused your helmets to be confiscated. Shame there wasn't more damage to them though - the assistant was a little resistant to my influence.

    Cool

Hmmmm now thats a first to happen at a movie theatre...

I know that I always carry mine into the theatre at Rialto and all other movie theatres. I just put mine on the empty chair next to me... with my jacket etc.. or if not enough seats then I get the aisle seat and put all my gear in the aisle when the movie starts.

If anyone asked to confiscate my helmet... then I would leave.

As you don't know what they will do to your helmet...
They could drop it and not tell you.
Hide drugs under the foam stuff.. and then the drug squad and dogs arrest you. (Think sharpeal Corby)
They could pour a drink into it accidently...

Sorry but I don't trust no one with my helmet.... its what helps save my life.

    Arrow That is total bullshit.

I'm not sure if there would be anyone that gullable to believe that rubbish. There is no way that I'd be handing over my helmet what so ever. I've found that the few times I've had hassles going into a place, asking for my money back tends to sort it out and they let me straight on in any way.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

they should have it in their terms and conditions somewhere reguarding confiscations of helmets. maybe classed as a potentional mask. but somewhere accesible to public should be a list of terms and agreements when purchasing the ticket or entering the theatre.
they can not deny you access to the theater if it is not written somewhere. otherwise they would be discrimaniting. and that is a no no.
be good to get a whole bunch of bikers along to go to the theatre and see what happens.

I'de make them give me my ticket money back and then leave never to return and tell all my biker mates never go there.

Got stopped at the grocery store cause they wanted my jacket and helmet to make sure I wasn't gonna steal anything (not what they said but certainly what the meant) I told them to get stuffed. Wasn't wearing the helmet just carying it.

Casino in Dorkland won't let you into the actual gambling area carrying a lid. You can check it into their "we look after it for you" desk (for free), and you can wander round with it in the general area, restaurants etc.

Nobody could tell me why though. But I didn't really push it, I was just wandering through for a look, cos I don't gamble (unless I can rig the deck in my favour )

All t-shirts now must be confiscated. I volunteer to confiscate them from the attractive women...

I left a helmet in the care of an employee of Waterworld here in Hamilscum - never again.
    Motorbike Camping for the win!
