Good news
Managed to shift the little birdie from the shoe box into my cats carry cage. Made up a little nest shape thing for it, and now its enjoying perching on the side of it.
I left a container with the weetbix and marmite mixed together. Also some fish. Left it alone for a few hours, came back and there was weetbix all over its beak and stuff. So I think its been eating it.
It also now seems to be full of energy scuttling round. It even seems more aware of its surroundings than what it was when I first brought it home, moving its head from side to side and watching me move around doing things in my room.
Will see how it is in the morning. With all the rain and stuff I still doubt it would be a good idea to let it go, least not until the weather clears up.
Also am still thinking bout sending it to the bird recovery in Whangarei on Monday if its health still doesn't seem to be at its peak.
Thanks all.

Hope the wee beastie recovers OK. They are beautiful birds, and very intelligent.
