    AMPS

Sorry to bother y'all, but does anyone know if KB has "friends at court" within AMPS?

I've asked Santa for a Dyno run, or two, and I see they have a model 250i Dyno which is, I'm reliably (?) informed, a desirable thing to have.

Problem is I don't know enough about what these things can do to be able to ask sensible questions. And yes I have a PC3 USB.

Lou works in accessories and I do their web site.

You really don't need to ask many questions - take your bike in - see gavin or Dave and say 'Fix it'.
    All you need to do.

Phone 300 7500, service dept. tell them you want to get a baseline run done by Gavin.
They are fairly busy, but should be able to do it soon.

Thanks for that. It ain't actually broke, it's just that it may be able to be improved, but we wouldn't know that until there was something to read.

If there was a dip somewhere like about 5000 rpm, where the emisions testing is done, that may be able to be removed/improved..

Generally though, it's all a dark art to me.

AMPS are an approved dynojet research tuning centre. They have the best range of power commander and dynojet products and the latest dyno machine.

Gav (and Dave) both went to the US for training at Dynojet and both are easy to talk to, knowledgable and helpful.

They will do a base run and make some recommendations. My Trophy has just been through the process and it is now going just great.

    Good stuff.

Thanks for that but I'm told that a model 250 or better is required to give the most meaningful results. AMPS and Pro Cycles (Napier) have 250i and Murray Mclean, Nelson, has a 250.

There is only a 150 in Hamilton and a 200 at Mt Maunganui. Or so the Dynojet Research Inc website says

It's all a bit of a mission but I really don't mind riding the bike, that's why I got it after all.

An issue that I have been wondering for a while is how do they account for the ram air effect on a dyno?

I know that they have some pretty powerfull fans, but they can't simulate say 100kph with them.

    Or can they?

2 big fans in front of the bike.
