I believe there was a lady on tv a while back - either news or campbell live or one of those.
Q-"why do you drive a SUV?"
    A-"Its safer"
Q-"Not for the person getting hit, did you know that being hit by a SUV is xxx times more dangerous?
    A-"not for me"
Q-"what if it was your own family being hit"
    A-"We will all have SUV's"
    Q-"What if you killed someone?"
    A-"I will be safer though"

*the above might not be an exact quote, but its dam close

That's why so many of us despise them.

Nope. The ones I encounter couldn't give a f**k. In fact , I think most of 'em would think it was pretty funny to knock a biker down. The only thing they'll understand is pain.

They're not actually anti biker they couldn't give a f**k about other cars, or treadleys, or pedestrians, either. If you want to get the messgae through to then, you have to convince them that their behaviour is going to hurt THEM.

If they're human enough for a leaflet to make them feel bad, then the leaflet isn't needed.

It's nice to know that performing a maneouvre that had a statistically very HIGH chance of killing or seriously injuring someone results in a $150 fine... while travelling at 130km/h on a semi-deserted stretch of mway which is a statistically very LOW chance of killing/seriously injurying incurs a higher penalty. Oh well, that's how our society works.

It's scary to think that someone missed a cop bike, i mean, of all bikes to miss!!! Hello????? Doesn't make me feel too good about my dark coloured riding gear, dark coloured helmet and my desire to buy a dark coloured bike... might just stick with the bright green one for now.

I admire your tolerance BC. I would impose $'wing mirror' fines for less... bit hard I guess on the "work hack" in your case

I bet she almost shat herself when she realised what she nearly did.

I had some bloke do a fast u-turn in front of me in newmarket, right into my path, luckily I was well aware of him and decided to have some fun. Mid way into his turn I just lent onto the horn and started to down shift very noisly, and didn't stop until he had pulled right to the curb and stopped. At which point I just wafted by giving him the international sign for wanker. The best bit was he stopped infront of a bus stop full of school kids waiting to go home, everyone started to clap and cheer.

    One for the bikers.

    Here's an idea

I know there is serious flaws to this idea for us bikers at least but...............

If there were more Biker Cops floating around and these cagers started getting fines on a regular basis for their lack of observation power, and better still a demerit here or there, they would be more alert for all of us. "Shit hope this is not one of those cop bikes coming................. "

No need to explain the downside............surely.
