Hi All,
Sometime between 19th January and 24th January, someone has made off with my KTM 950 SM from the Auckland Airport domestic carpark. It was in the covered carpark, in designated m/c parking next to the car charging stations very close to the ticket payment machines.
Since that time I have been dealing with SecureParking (haha) and Skygate Security (haha x 2). I can safely report to the readers here that these organisations are in fact quite useless and despite having cameras up the wazoo, they failed to see the before mentioned bike somehow disappear. My insurance company advised me that they had 2 claims of stolen bikes in the same week from the same location. Smells like a targeted operation.
Here is part of their response I received today: 'Due to poor CCTV coverage on cp Q I couldn’t find any suspicious activities during that time. There were few motorbikes leaving cp but none of them was matching description or registration'.
It took them 5 days before reviewing the footage and initially got the dates wrong. It's my opinion that anyone leaving their bike there overnight does so at some risk as cameras are only as useful as the person reviewing them.
Does anyone here have experience in getting a hold of CCTV footage? I reckon the operators just have no clue in what they're looking for, I'd like to see it myself.
For the record:
KTM 950 SM-R 2008 (black & orange, centre stand, crash bungs, tour screen, hand guards and USB outlet)
Plate # B7EKC
VIN: VBKVS44087M934684.
Cheers.
