Red face Selling your first bike

well, the time has come. I need a bigger bike. to those of you have sold you first bike, no matter how shitty it was, do you regret selling it?

I love my bike, Ive spent more on it in repairs than I bought it for and I adore the little slut even though she's a little one. I dont want to pass it onto someone else who might not love it as much as me, you think perhaps I should just keep it and buy a better bike outa my own pocket?

edit: gaylord, you cant press 'back' after youve started to add a poll or it fucks up
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis

You can get a weekend bike and keep the little one for work.
I'd like to, but the thought of regoing two of the things...

Do I regret selling the gn125? Not really, I regret the purchase I made afterwards. I'm glad I got $1680 for my gn as I see mint condition 125s on tardme with less kms than mine for $1000 atm.

It was an AWESOME first bike, the fuel economy was the shit. I decieded to sell it when I lost a race to indy on his fxr, I had a rolling start, pinned the throttle wide open and indy zooms up on the left. I was not impressed.

I never sold my first bike.

It was completely fucked by the bastard who stole it and took it for a joyride.
Remember to never split an infinitive. The passive voice should never be used. Do not put statements in the negative form. Proofread carefully to see if you words out. And don't start a sentence with a conjugation. (William Safire)

Im still on 2 minds on weather to sell mine when the time comes.
One on hand, the extra money.
On the other, the sentamental value, and the fact it'd be good to have a spare bike in the garage for other riders

Hmmm, I'm still on my first bike ...well haven't got it back insurance yet but its gonna look pretty awful with all the tape thats gonna go on. The previous owner and I have both fallen in love with the little fxr. He was pretty gutted when he saw what I'd done with it.

Take a picture of it - then sell it. It might be your first but it wont be your last....

I am keeping my first bike for sentimental reasons... will never ever sell it, its only a 125... and there will be a 05 gixxer 600 sitting next to it... but I will still ride the little beast!!

I do get sentimental about my old CBR250 sometimes...

main reason I'd want it though is so that I don't have to do gay, SH1 commutes on the 600, and flatten the middle of the Pilot Power...

Def good to keep a little shit bike around to keep the value of your 'fun bike' high.

I paid $60 for my Bantam, and sold it for $100 a couple of years later - the phone never stopped ringing and the first person to come took it straight away without even riding it - um,it kinda occured to me I might of let it go too cheap....

Fifty quid for a Bantam ! What, was it gold plated? I never sold my first Bantam, by the time I'd thrashed it on road and off , and "modified" and "tuned" it, there wasn't really much to sell. It sort of disappeared, spread out over half a dozen other bikes. You obviously rode yours very gently. Wuss.
