    GO HARD OR TRY HARD?

ok.. here's a situation for you.. i have a customer here who is a really nice guy, but im starting to think he's a bit on the

"not the brightest crayon in the box" side.

hes got a REALLY great bike..(identical second one.. long story) rides fairly hard so ive heardand is reallly into the sprotbike lifestyle..
its in our shop right now for a fault..we have got specialist equiptment in from Suzuki to diagnose the problem but so far nothing.. 30 some odd hours charged under warranty... so we loan him a bike till his is fixed.. he's bitching and moaning about this and that.. too small hurts blah blah.. and this morning .. he rings up.. loaner bike wont start!!! hes broken down across town and needs to get to work.. we send our truck to get him and we are all baffled when the bike gets back.. battery is run flat from cranking, but the charging system is good..everything is working but its not starting, even on the quickboost it wont fire

so Trigger notices that the fuel tap is in the ON position.. flips it to reserve and..

wouldnt ya know it , the bike starts right up.. it was out of petrol

    douchebag

so what we are thinking.. on his personal bike ... maybe we should check his petrol?

what do you think.. hardcore biker or total Pommy git?

interesting... point out his mistake.. if he gets embarassed.. then meh a mistake.. if not.. then a pommy git.....

haha... I can remember the first time that happened to me.. it was pointed out.. and I couldn't find a rock big enough to crawl under.. never had that problem again!

we've all made basic mistakes... so if it's a one off... no biggie...

If you found the same issue on BOTH bikes I'd be very concerned - for your guys that have spent 30hours on the thing so far...

oh yeah - and for him too, although technically it's the same mistake he made to start with so - y'know he mightn't *snigger* know wh *cough* what to *SNIGGER* look OUT FOR

    PWAHAHAHAHAHA

How do some people actually survive this long?

The number of service calls we get for f&*%$n printers that have run out of ink is incredible.

Remember years ago, a bike that had the Brit system with two fuel taps. I'd had the bike a while and I could have sworn that it was left side main, right reserve (or vice versa).

So, pootling along one night , cough cough, oops, better switch to reserve, open second tap, engine roars back into life, for a few seconds cough, splutter urrrrggggghhhh.

Oh shit. Peer into fuel tank, yeah I reckon there 's a bit in there , hard to see at night , but yeah.

Bugger. Start dismantling carby - some fuel in the bowl , pull jets, looks OK. Reasemble, kick kick kick , filthy poxy heap of shit. Check mag, good spark duhhh - whats going on. Finally think to tickle the carby. Hm Nothing . Odd. Pull the hoses off the tap. Nothing coming out. Yep. It was the other way round, I'd been on reserve all the while.

'Tis surprising easy to forget the simple stuff when the unexpected strikes.

    Cool

SARGE, are you telling us that Dover's bike wouldnt go at the Puhoi Pub last weekend, cos it had run out of gas... and he didnt think to check the 'reserve' switch... and he gets the bike picked up on the back of the Coleman's ute..........

Dover, you will never live this one down....

Dover - always check your RESERVE switch..........
