Ok suggestions for BBQ place have been;

red beach is a great place..Shakespear park up past Stanmore bay is nice too and wont be real crowded..
nice road to get to it also..

Ok there's a road called Huia road it is in the waitakere ranges area.

I know of a beautiful place where we all can go and have a great time. Heaps of parking and pretty private too.
it's the little beach stop areas along Huia Rd - on the east side of it. The area is zones under Waitakere National Parks.

Any others? Thinking we all meet somewher at around 6 then head out to the BBQ place. That way no one gets lost and I'll post a map for any straglers and gives us enough time to set up and eat before it gets dark, then the fireworks. Also some peaple may be in cars cause other then me I don't think there are too any others that will ride with fireworks and food somewhere on thier bikes.

Once I get all the details hamerd out and toss them at a few peaple I trust as sounding boards I'll start a new thread with everything up front and very big for easy readability.

Just did, have to do it tomorrow cause office hours are 9am to 4:30pm. After that it become an emergency service.

How private is the one you suggested? Like are we gonna have heaps of other groups there so that the whole place is very crowded or just a small to medium amount of other groups?

There usually aren't many people there.

Especially in the evenings it's empty.

However since it's guy fawkes night there may be some people about. It's not in the middle of a town - just a place on the side of a lonely country road. No house near there.

Might just say no medium to heavy drinking and let peaple fire off thier own fireworks. Everyone will have more fun that way anyway. And one less thing I have to worry about just need to make sure someone can bring several big buckets incase something does get out of hand and to toss the used fireworks into.

So does anybody have a BBQ pit they can bring out for this? If it comes down to it I'll cook but I must warn you the only way I know how to cook on a bbq is let it go till the outside turns blackish....
