    Jade vs Herd of cows.

Thought I better do the obligatory post.....

I've taken out possums, hedgehogs, a duck, a hen and various other feathered friends on the bike before, but I topped it last night with a herd of cows.

The Jade's instrument panel's smashed to smitherines and I've got cruiser bars now (bent right back) and a few other things, but could be a lot worse. I've just got a slightly stuffed (but not broken) left hand at the mo and a few aches and bruises but that's not too major either. Won't be riding for a few days at least though.

The neighbour's cows had got out (again!!!) and were all waiting for me in formation as I came around a corner onto the straight. No street lights or runoff area on our road. Found pieces of cow (blood and fur) on the bike, but they just hooned off, the mongrels. Could have been a few nice bits of steak if they'd hung around.

Just a bit of entertainment to brighten up everyone's day. Even though it wasn't the most enjoyable way to spend a Sun night, it is a bit of a laugh. Apart from the condition of my beautiful wee bicycle.

Oh dear. Poor Jade. Up against a foe just too big for it. Very glad you are more or less OK. It's a worry though - I've noted before that Ma Nature seems to have declared war on bikers - now she's sending in the heavy cavalry.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you're back on the road soon.

Should get your neighbour to fix up the mighty Jade since he's responsible to keep his stock under control.

Well, I guess you just had to be creative for your first bin... none of this 'lowsiding on gravel on a corner' nancy shit for you, girly.

When you put the new bars on, what about tipping them with matador blades?

(PS Really glad you're ok, obviously..!)

Shit Jade, no point in buying a lotto ticket now as you've just used up all your luck. Glad to hear your fine.

And yep the cocky is liable. Unfortunately if you dig deeper you'll probably find that some dickheads are getting their kicks by letting the cows out at night and waiting to see what happens. It's not that uncommon.

Bloody hell! I hope that isn't one of your 33 Weazel lives used up.

Matthewt and Dangerous are right, as much as I know you'd rather let it lie, get the bugger to fix the Jade. I hope you rang the cops too. It is quite important in this case that you do, especially if you've actually hurt that hand. There are worse things than breaking bones, soft tissue damage in your hands being one of them.

If you haven't rung, do it now. That way at least the courts will be able to get some money to fix the Jade.

Solid things are cows, not much gets through them. They are also very nosey and not at all flighty, you run across them in all sorts of places off road, any other animal will run away, cows seem attracted to bikes....maybe the have a crush on farmers? Up until a few years ago you would be liable for damage to stock, even if wandering through open gates or neglected fences - guess you can blame the stupid Goverment for the changes there that put the liability on the farmer.

Bugger mate, you have bigger balls than me taking on a cow (PT)

    Glad you are OK though.
