    ME SORE BACK!!

I've been riding what, a month now, and have this chronic back pain. Im guessing from the handle bars? Its between the shoulder blades, slightly left and down.

I have a suspicion its because Im hung like a rhino, and have pecs that make Pam look like Arnie, but if this is true, it shoulda come b4 the bike right?

    Help, its killing me.

Riding position. Goes with the sporting style. Get a tourer, or a crusier, or harden up

(though, how long before it sets in? If you don't feel anything until 3 or 4 hundred km, that my be norml, keep going and often you ride through it)

    Cool

Buy a cruiser.... then you will be sitting more upright...

Maybe relax your arms a bit...
Do some stretching exercises before getting on and after you get off the bike.

Yeah, Crashe I found it way better when Rhino adjusted my handle bars, brake, clutch and the gears for me. Like it was adjusted for my height and riding position - it was then so much more comfortable and I was able to relax a bit more. I think everyone should think about this as it makes it so much easier for handling a bike.

stop trying to convert people! Sprot bikes is where its at.

Take a hard pill and get over it dude!

Honestly you will find it a lil bit sore to start off with, specially if you havent done any physical sports for a while. Go to the gym and do some resistance training - normal movements but with extra weight (start with about 3-4kg dumbells in your hands). say, raising your arms up straight in front of you, but with the extra weight, do 10 times on each arm, repeating 3 times for each. Also one to try is the roman chair, kidna like a backwards sit up, give you a 'abs on you back' and will help your posture all round.

basically if you try those two you will start to think of stuff you can do to develop it further. Even if it doesnt work out for you i can almost guarantee there will be a hot chick at the gym!

I have been at the gym for about 5-6 months now and gained like 10kg, I even get a sore back...

It is probably the tendony things or mabey just some part of your spine. Discs could be under pressure in the way you sit on a sprotsbike, especially when you hit large bumps and it gets jerked around.

Just sit on the tank for a while on the straights or on the pillion seat. I do it and it's great to stretch. Stand up etc etc etc.

edit: gareth i was tempted to ask if you are mexican or not in your work thread

lol, trust me it dont sound like much but when you've done it 30 odd times you'll be glad you didnt start with 10kg weights. its a gradual thing, and if you are sore you dont want to jump into it.

basically when you can do 8/10 without struggling you are at the right weight.
