It all grates me... such a simple question "can we use bus lanes" answered by a never ending set of laws, bylaws, specific jurisdictions and interpretations... How the HELL are we meant to know what we're allowed to do, when this shite isn't simple, it ain't promoted and I ain't a Lawyer.

Gimme one rule to follow and I will - gratefully.

Gimme 10 rules complete with conditional subclauses and a variety of interpretations (all of which are non binding opinions of course)...

    We all bloody mad!
$2,000 cash if you find a buyer for my house, kumeuhouseforsale@straightshooters.co.nz for details

Simple: One rule for city areas say you can unless excluded. The other says that you can not on motorways.

    Simple!

Bit like the roundabout signaling thing. Simple as hell but nobody does it right. Just another cock up by those that sit in ivory towers twiddling their cocks or whatever. Why some bright spark just did not come up with the idea that motorcycleists can either use bus lanes no matter where they are or we can't use them. No ambiguity, no confusion.

I tend to keep away from them. Last thing I want is some bus up my arse and besides I know how bad some drivers are.

Not really , because there remains doubt about the validity of the claim that the Transit Bylaw overrides LATER legislation that specifically allows use of buslanes (without restriction) by motorcyclists. Usually later legislation overides earlier, not vice versa.
