You make a valid point and I tend to agree with you - I try to keep my insurances down just to cover "worst case scenarios." However there are some things you have to insure really(like yr house) and I feel it is iresponsible not to have 3rd party on vehicles.

The other side of that, I guess, is if you pay out all this money for insurance then you want all the benefits when you do have a prang.
And I suppose it keeps people employed.
