ok I don't have them, been wanting them for ages... but I can only see one poster who suggests repco for $70

anyone else who has them, can you provide some assistance - where do I:

    get them from

    how much are they

can I hook them up myself
(not mechanically minded, but practical enough)

    cheers

Get them from SuperCheap, Repco, maybe Kmart, any boy racer shop, Wootons.

Prices from 30 something bucks to a couple of hundred. The real cheap ones aren't too hot, doubt that the real pricey ones are worth it. $70 probably about right..

Should be able to hook them up yourself. Just need an electrical feed (make sure it's fused, and use a relay - should be explained in the instruction pamphlet). Hardest part is actually finding a place to mount everything, bikes don't have too much room for extra bits. My horns are on the engine crash bars, the compressor is in the top box. Not the best arrangement.

Once you figure out where to put everything, a couple of hours work.Half a dozen bolts, a bit of wire, couple of crimps. Assuming you don't have to drill holes for the mountings. You may need to go to a hardware shop and buy some extra plastic tubing to connect the compressor and horns, if you can't mount them in the same place.

Saw a set in Supercheap that included the relay and instructions.

I used to sell twin, triple, and musical air horns, and they moved like hot cakes! Excellent idea for the bike, you just have to find enuf space to mount the horns & compressor, some bikes have stuff-all room. If you have heaps of mounting space i reckon you should go for the 4 horn Cavalry Charge or Bridge on the River Kwai, and if you're really keen go for the 5 horn Dixie tune (Dukes of Hazard) or even the 6 horn Il Padrino (The Godfather)!!! Traditionally the musical horns have been used on milk delivery trucks and the like, but it sure would be a hoot to hear your bike singing a tune in the middle of a busy intersection as the blind cagers move out of your way!
