I picked up my rg150 today, it goes for a check tommorow (the temperature gauge doens't want to work), ah man it's great fun. It hauls arse past 8,000rpm.
Just thought I'd share.![]()
The tempreture gauge is probably working fine.
Those bikes are designed to run in thailand, where its HOT.
To save on costs, they are designed so the coolant is constantly flowing at a fast rate, which keeps them at the right tempreture in thailand.
but when these bikes are running in NZ, it is colder, so they never get up to tempreture.
A quick fix: get duct tape.
Put some duct tape on the plastic "protector" which is infront of the radiator, so it covers about the top third (about one width of tape)
Fixed.
Of course, It might be the tempreture gauge.
Oh yeah, congrats
Edit: I MSPAINTed you a picture![]()

so when do I get a ride magua - I want to see what it goes like compared to mine. As per the temp - Zorst's bang on. the thing hardly moves, and I've got a new temp sensor thing
Yes they were designed for the thai market, NZ scored 100 of them back in the day (so I heard) They didn't arrive in the country with a thermostat, when they were within warranty Suzuki NZ were fitting them for free.
You could save yourself $50 or so installation fees by doing it yourself, just check that it is one of the models with a thermostat housing, the KR150s don't even have that!
Good to see you replaced the FZR with a decent bike.
I've rode it, f*cking riiiiiiiiiing baaaaaaaaaaa diiiiiiiiiiiiing lol![]()

Get that temp gauge working and enjoy your new ride! I hope the check goes thru smoothly, let's hope *this* bike is a low maintenance one! :spudbn:
When I first got my bike I thought the temp gauge didn’t work, wasn’t until I got into traffic it started to register.
