as long as your knee don't hit anything hard then it should be ok... but I wear as much protection as I could... "gear could be replaced"

I have recently bought a pair and find them very comfortable. Last summer it just got too hot in my cordura pants, and I am just not in to leather.
Apparently you can buy removable armour for knees and hips that just slip down inside. (might look into that sometime) But even without the armour they can save you a lot of grief. Consider a broken bone will heal in x number of weeks but the damage from severe grazing can take months - its like a 3rd degree burn - whole heaps of flesh can be grated away - not to mention the infections and skin grafts.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
Ive just found out the misses is getting me a pair of the camo pants. Good to hear that they are actually oK as I'm rather skepticle.
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
I DONT THINK THEY MAKE THEM IN XXX CHUNKY , SO YOU SHOULD STILL BE SKEPTICLE FAT ARSEOriginally Posted by inlinefour

ild still be using them in 100kph+ roads (theres quite alot over here) and if i just went out for a little fun ild probally wear them, but covermyself in my motox gear (hip, knee, etc).Originally Posted by Zed
if i was going really far like auckland or taupo ild want to be as protected as posable, thus wanting the leather but that will be sometime later on.
Sounds like a plan. You don't give a stuff about *fashion* do you!Originally Posted by The young one

*fashion* is the whole reason im getting the jeans, i myself wouldnt care walking down the street in full race leathers, but no one i know (their all stupid cage fanatics) would even stand by me in them, plus all the crazy nutter looks you get from the public, oh yeah and lets not forget the stupid jokes and remarks ild get by the kids at school. i wear jeans now with a courda jacket and if i go into the hills i wear the motox gear, but its all hidden under my jeans so when your on the bike it cant be seen *sorter*
Aha, a most cunning plan! :spudbn:Originally Posted by The young one

You're right, I was quite comfortable, must have been the company
As for protection, always use protection kids![]()
Tha Jandal: Adding another dimension to "rubber side down"
Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"
Been thinking of getting some of d/jeans. good info here tks.![]()
Personality can open doors, but only character can keep them open.
I got the black chinos about a year ago. Haven't properly tested them in a crash (yet) but have worn them quite often. They're really comfortable on the bike and walking around with them, the kevlar is pretty good for deflecting wind chill and I can get away with using them as school uniform. Being made of normal fabric they can get really cold on a cold days riding and they do absorb water but they aren't designed to protect you from the weather anyway. They also look rather spiffing I must say
thanks for all your replies, ill think ill go buy some after exams.
just wondering about the other brands that do them now? eg/shift, are they any better of worse?, whats the adverge price for them now these days?
Interesting. I didn't know they did those - they seem to only be on the Australian and Canadian websites, not the US one. I thought they only did the jean style. Those ones look formal enough to wear to the office , which is my big hassle with leggings.Originally Posted by alarumba
I might be in for a pair of those, if they do them to fit fat dwarfs. Did you get them locally or import them ?
