hehehehehe Ok I would say as a learner if you like cruisers then start out with a VIRAGO 250 cruiser or the GN250...

But you maybe one who loves to own and ride sportbikes... and the others on here, can then recommend which sportbike is the way to go...

I've done the trade 2 times, and not regretted it at all.

If you know you enjoy motorcycling, and you know what to expect (to get wet sometimes, to bugs in your teeth sometimes etc).... then no - you'll be sweet.

Bikes are way more convenient! You get there faster, have more fun and it costs you less! If you have to transport more than you can get on your bike borrow your parents car ;-)

I haven't had only one form of transport since I was 16 - get a car as well, get another one for spares, then get another bike...a dirt bike this time.

Don't tell anyone, you know the risks and the truth, do what you want to do bugger everyone else

BTW for me, 99.5% of the time there is no inconvenience with the bike.

Hey I spent 4 years wanting to get a bike and every time being put off by others, this year I finally thought "what the hell am I waiting for?". I have yet to tell all the doubters what I have done.......it will be a nice surprise when they come visit!

Good for you, and dont let the nay-sayers put you off, Riding is the one thing that I do that is completely about me and doing what I love to do. Like most people I am forced to make concessions in most other areas of life to some extent, but not when it comes to bikes. Tell everyone else to bugger off and live your life your way, the greatest regret is wishing you had done something you wanted to do but didnt have the guts to stand up for.

I know I'm old and slow (and currently don't own a bike) but your comment I assume to be humour? Interesting way to show this. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or derogatory just asking is all?

Plenty of people out there will give you all the excuses under the sun. Realty is you can die in your sleep so enjoy life. I've heard it said if you were to rap your self in cotton wool to avoid all the dangers of the world you would probably suffocate.

Bikes are fun, no doubt about it

Oh, for fucks sake - if you want a bike - GET ONE

Dont worry about what anyone else thinks!!

If you're worrying about that, obviously, bikes arent for you, so get a nice little Starlet or something!

Shit - I sold a bike once to get a car -----WHAT WAS I THINKING !!!!
