can't race anything like that on tracks, only drags

Ghost rider. Yes.. I saw that a while back and had some discussion weather it is real or faked. I say there is too much traffic/open road/bad camera shots for it to be fake. If it was fake then you would think there would be nice, in frame shots of the ghost rider. My mate reckons it is just too unbelievable to be real.

The guy has certainly passed lane splitting 101 anyway. Some very very scary moments on that DVD

I once met a guy at a pub who had a 185Hp ducati 916 which was gonna be the fastest drag bike in New Zealand once it had NoS and 300Hp. He wanted to race me for 'pink slips' along East coast road as well. After him talking shit for a while I said something like ' If you wanna actually talk about bikes thats fine, just cut the bullshit 'cos i'm not interested.'

Not too long after this he wobbled out of the car park on an MC17 CBR250, nearly loosing his balance a few times.

    Dork.

Hit him up about it... he obviously knows shit, otherwise he would've made it more believable. So you don't need to know everything, just spin shit to fill in the gaps your unsure of and he won't know any better.

Shoot his bullshiting arse out of the sky and make sure everyone's around to see when you do it.

No seriously ask him what mod's he's done. Verify it yourself and then if you still believe he's full of shit tell him. No point beating around the bush if he is an idiot. Maybe beating around the head instead.
Brilliant idea. I wish I had thought of that. I just went wow, that sounds like a pretty impressive machine, and then added that I was looking at the new ZX10 (my dream bike) in at AFC last week which has 184 horses pulling it along. I am not really the type of guy to tell someone outright they are full of shit, but I do take it as an insult on my intelligence.

Your man is an idiot. When I was young and impetuous I probably would have wound up in an argument.

These days I would hopefully remember the advice that goes something like,
"Never argue with an idiot, other people may not be able to tell the difference."

I am sure that the gsxr1100 motor is capable of doing 400bhp..that is with a lot of money and serious mods.

huh?? 408 is a fairly large number wouldnt you think? If your going to lie a little you could go for 250 ish wouldn't ya?
Ignore the individual until he really puts his/her foot in their mouth. Eventually someone else will point out the error of their ways. I just tend to sit back and watch all the fun. Should I have anything sensible to say, thats about when I do so.

So did you tell him you think he's full of it, or were you unsure about his info?? :spudwhat:

I've had several interesting discussions about bikes of late, one guy I told about the dry weight of my new bike being 168kgs refused to believe me cos that would make it lighter than his ZX-10! Another peep I got talking to was proud to spurt out how many kilowatts his bike puts out, and when I didn't know the figure on mine (usually speak in Bhp terms) he smirked as though he was victorious or summat?

I love chatting about bikes in person, it's usually easy to spot who's talking rubbish, and people say the most hillarious things that they may think are true but are actually old urban myths!

I didnt tell him he was full of shit because it is not my style. (yes I do have some style)..

I am really a little shy in some circumstances and when people are just talking outright crap it annoys me because it is insulting. I have been around bikes forever and and always interested in all kinds of specs. I like talking about motors and gadgets with others who know what they are talking about. Like anything I don't know everything about everything, I just know what I know. I guesstimate my bike puts out about 70-80HP at peak from what I have read about it. I know the new 600s go over 100, some at closer to 120 or so. If he had told me his bike put out 220-240HP I would have believed him and got into a discussion about what he did to get it there. Starting with a figure of 408 is just plain rediculous and I have no interest in continuing the discussion.

As a side point, another guy I work with who rides a zxr250 which he wanted sold and I advertised it on here for him and got a reply and told him about it and every day he is keen to sell it but won't for some reason, I don't know, Anyway, this guy told me he rides the zxr250 because he had a ducati 918 and was racing down the himitangi striaghts at over 300k/hour and the battery lead fell off the battery and it sparked and siezied the motor and locked him up and he went for a slide down the road forever and then he lay in a ditch for an hour and no one came to help (this is a state highway for those who are unaware) so he got up and walked home and then he brought the ZXR250....

REALLY?? I am starting to wonder if I just look gulliable???? I am damn sure they are not taking the piss because the stories are not for me alone, they are shared around to keep everyone entertained.
