I think you should have supported local business and bought locally in the first place.
I'd do the same.
Sorry fishslayer, but we wouldn't do a swap for a product we don't carry at AMPS either. Partly for the hassle of introducing another stock item into the inventory system for one pair of gloves that we'd never carry again..
We have done what you wanted with items we do carry though.
Were Mt Eden Alpinestars stockists?

Stupidity kills people.
Why is it the dealers fault that you brought the wrong size gloves and more to the point, why should it be up to them to rectify your problem. Sorry mate, but your sounding like a crybaby to meOriginally Posted by Lou Girardin

If the service is slack regarding a bike you brought from them, then tell them about it. Don't whinge here.![]()
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.
Botany did have the same gloves on the shelf, same model same colour and everything. They weren't a new item to them. They were just very blunt and rude about it.Originally Posted by Lou Girardin
Yes Mt Eden also are an Alpinestars stockist.
Sounds pig headed to me, as most shops will swap product if the size is worng. Its some thing called customer service and good will, and that is some thing that if you are buying a bussiness they will charge you for!

It wasn't the dealers fault at all, I am/was a good customer of theirs and politely asked if they may be able to help me out. It was how blunt and rude they were (basically told me to get lost) that annoyed me and with not even wanting to help out a good customer of theirs then putting down other motorcycle dealers that may be able to help me out.Originally Posted by inlinefour
IMO, he was in his rights to say they won't exchange them, but if they won't offer help, thats a bit bugger! I also don't help other people, but thats cause Im a bastard

well as far as i see it if they didn't do what you wanted them to do it is their choice and you have the right to take your business somewhere else it's great that you let people know and it is their choice to go there or not. i believe that the gloved had nothing to do with them so they didn't want to help but putting down another dealer when you have done nothing is crappy showmanship
Whats that star?, its the deathstar, what does it do?, it does death!
They may have lost two customers but they're just cheap-skates who buy their shit from the States and expect the local dealers to rectify any problems. They've also just gained a customer in me and I'll be buying all my Honda bits there in future.
You spent heaps there? What, like a 2004 model, discounted superbike with no margin in it at all and a couple of services? Big deal.
For the record, a KBer rode a heap of shit SP1 to Auckland from Wgtn, decided to take a look at a horrible Repsol replica, Danny gave hime the sharpest fucken trade in deal he could, just so said KBer would buy from him.
I've worked in bike shops for 5 years total, always been commended on my customer service skills and I wouldn't have said "No" to that request, I would of laughed in your face.

good onya trashy. i'd buy something from ya. got any 190 tyres for sale? i bought a 180 but it's just too small....
I wouldn't have even had the gall to ask the shop to replace them.
The fact of the matter is that you can probably save a few bucks by buying through the internet but the risk is if the item doesn't fit (or has problems) it's going to be harder to get it sorted. You save a few dollars and this is the risk you take!
Did you consider sending the gloves back to the States and asking them to send a smaller size? Or would the cost of freight have outweighted the saving made by buying offshore in the first place?
The Unknown Rider
Perhaps a wise man would have tried the brand of gloves locally for sizing THEN ordered off the net ? Which doubtless pisses the local shopkeepers off even more.
I'll buy locally where I can, provided the pricing isn't absurdly different. What goes round comes round, one day it may be my job that gets saved 'cos people support local business.

Dude you need a chill pill, I actually had a mate over there who brought 2 pairs back with him one for me and one for him. If you had a mate who was on his way back from somewhere and could pick something up for you which would save you a few dollars would you not want to?.Originally Posted by White trash
I wasn't annoyed with them because they said no, I was annoyed with them putting down other motorcycle dealers when they couldn't even help me themselves. Thats not good business.
