What you mean, I think, is that private sales have no warranty, and no protection under the Consumer Guarantees Act or other consumer protection legislation.

thanks for clarifying the situation Ixion - he originally bought it for $1500 and we agreed verbally to a price of $1250 with no wof/reg so it was sold as is - his problem not mine.
