    add 5wrhp instantly!!

no idea how, or why, just doesn't make sense.

The bike was filthy from weeks of being denied a bath. It'd been round Taupo, it'd been in the rain, it'd been up and down 16 and up to fongaray and back, down to Fielding, round Manfield and back, then up and down 22. Yup, she's a dirty hoe that's been ridden hard.

Time for a good scrub me thinks. Rode home, nothing special.

Up on the stands, I get to work and spend a good 90 odd minutes really making her shine (yes, I know some of you spend the entire weekend cleaning, but this is just a good surface wash for now), got the bug and tar remover, covered almost the whole bike in it, rubbed it down and buffed it up (I like that bit), and she's lookin like she just rolled off the showroom, minus the stone chips peppering the front.

Got on to head out west, and blow me! She feels quick and solid and together! Really feels different, and I swear it wasn't just me. But all I did was wash it! I guess it has to go down to the 'feel good' factor, but the bike was just as sharp as a pin, which I could have sworn was a little dull before the wash. Could I have washed off 5kgs of road crap?

anyway, she's gleemin.. just hope the rain stays away for a while
just really made my head turn when it felt so different, just for a wash

Its always like that. A clean bike feels faster, handels better and makes the smile on your face bigger. Well done on cleaning her mate, I know I should get round to doing mine someday.

its probably to do with the air, its been raining a lot and thers alot of moisture in the air, it was not so humid last night and today its nice and dry. That might have a bit more to do with it...

when i rode to work the other day (in the pooring rain at 10am) my temp gauge dropped from 82deg at 60kmh (normally stays there when cruising at anyspeed) down to 74deg and yep i did fell the bike had a little bit more punch.

I know what you mean buggy, wait til you give it a polish. If you scrub the chain with a stiff brush then lube and re-tension it the bike will be even more responsive.

I've been riding it for the whole week tho, and it hasn't felt this snappy for ages. just weird..

the only time when it'll feel more snappy, is when my toys get here from the states

    yeah, whoda thunk?

don't wanna say just yet. don't wanna jinx it. can't f'in afford it, but it's a bargain. should hear back how much to ship, then go from there. Could do a bulk buy if anyone else is thinking about some toys. I'll post up another thread tho when I hear back.

You've appeased whatever spirit is residing in your machine.
As I have posted previously, the woodland spirits that once resided in trees and water courses have now migrated into technological artifacts, due to man cutting down the trees and damming rivers.
I see this effect in all the equipment I service.
