    A question for the cops.

Today while i was riding my bike I happened to notice a police officer in full uniform driving a daihatsu sirion, one can only assume he was going to or from his job. I was travelling behind him (this is on the open rd) and he was doing bout 120 according to my speedo, crossing tthe white lines on coners and some other naughty things, I wanted to pass him because it was my favourite stretch of road coming up and knew i'd be going faster then him but was too scared to pass him incase he got my plate number. Ths is the question, should I have been worried? Can cops take down your plate and give u a ticket later? do they bother? Can they pull you over when not in a official car?

    Re Police officers

Yes too most of those questions, we have had one of the site cops tell us a bout times when they have done this,(posted ticket in the mail) also our FC group has been stopped at the side of the road when an off duty Police Officer, stopped showed his ID then gave one of our group a bloody good bollocking, ......but no ticket, ever came.

given what you have described doubt you would have got a ticket had you passed him, but I guess you never know.

    F/F

edit, not sure about pulling you over in their private car, but if you happen to stop, or they catch up with you at the lights or whatever....

Isn't a more likely scenario, just calling in and getting an on duty mate down the road to collar you?

it depends on there point of view/mood i 'spose; when they're off duty. i.e Are they in a bad mood, are you being dangerous/wreckless etc.

My sisters part of a 'rapid response' section in the UK; off duty if someone pisses her off she'll give chase, bollock 'em and if they wanna give her lip she'll pull the ID and give 'em a true bitch slap.

She thinks its hilarious how people wanna give her shit then become flacid limp wristed roosters when she pulls the ID.

remember.. most people in authority say "Do as i say.. not as i do"

Because they have to deal with the dregs of society everyday and also have their name dredged in shit before even talking to you.
