    Some of the 650s are belt, some chain. None shaft, which was the point.

    True.Water cooling, and OHC and the cylinders all stuck on one side, quite wrong. Does have shaft drive, but, and the proper klunken krunchen gearbox. Many "proper" BMW gurus reckon that nothing is that doesn't have an Erles fork
